Want to know if this is a fraud setup? "3rdpart escrow

Postby fella3 » Tue Feb 21, 2006 2:22 am

I am selling a item on ebay and it is a pretty high priced item (to me). Myself, the seller and the buyer agreed on a selling price of $1900.00. The buyer states that he lives in a area that Paypal does not support. So therefore, he wants to use this escrow company by the name of "3rd Partner". He told me to register for this service so that he could forward payment. I registered with the site and I also did some checking around to try to find out where they were located and tried to find a telephone number but the site did not list one. So before I go ahead with the transaction, I would like to find out if it is in fact legit.

URL http://www.3rdpart.com/

Buyer information: Name- Popenea Rodica
Street- Str. Tarinii, Nr. 30
City- Chisinau
State- MD
Zip Code- 32000
User Name- bluefire
Country- Moldova

This is the email that I received today (02/20/06) from 3rd Part:

Dear seller (fella3),

buyer has completed Step 2 and has made the payment to us . You can move to
Step 3 and send the item to the buyer . Please notify us at
support@3rdpart.com after you have shipped the item(s) with the tracking
number.
The shipping name&address:
Name: Popenea Rodica
Address: Str. Tarinii, Nr. 30
City: Chisinau
State: MD
Zip Code: 32000
Country: Moldova
If you have any other questions or if you need any additional information
you can contact our customer support at support@3rdpart.com .

Can someone let me know before proceeding, if this is legit or not.

Thank you

3rdpart.com

3rdpart.com is a fraud escrow site.
Make sure you safeguard all of your online accounts.
If you registered using a common password you need to change all of them and your secret questions.
The person pretending to buy your item is also running the fraud escrow site.
Report the eBay ID he is using. Its most likely a hijacked account.

What is the e-mail address the scammer used to contact you?

The site is being hosted by XO Communications.
Please forward the e-mail from the fake site to:
abuse@xo.com
Demand the fraud domain be removed immediately.
The site is registered to an identity theft victim located in Brooklyn.

HAHAHAHA@@@@ Now they are not satisfied with money, wants products now...
Be careful. They are scammers!!!! I know only 4 real escrow:

This are legit.

Obviously http://escrow.com is legit

http://www.escrow-europe.com seems to not work... Did you mean http://escrow-europa.com ? (it too, is legit)

Never heard of http://www.iloxx.com
directly, but I have seen several other FRAUD sites use the iloxx as part of their name.

Also never heard of http://www.tnt.com either but their WHOIS tends to lean towards legitimacy.

TNT are legit - the previous company I worked for used them daily. They are a delivery service - I don't know if they do escrow....

As for the escrow-europa....... I'd be suspecious of anyone who wants your money but doesn't offer a phone humber that works and an address that can be verified.

I search for:

1. Company name (google).
2. Address (also for images of the street they're on) (google images)
3. Check the address in the phone directory and look it up http://www.map24.com
4. Check the website for online-contact-form if you hit "submit" without filling details, what happens ?
5. Call the phone number (if there is one).
6. WHOIS search for website details.
7. If possible - check registration at the chamber-of-commerce.

attention escow fraud victim, please contact me

Postby escowscamvictim » Tue May 16, 2006 7:39 am

Anyone who have been defrauded by 3rdpart.net or anyone who is about to be defrauded by a sister site that look identical to 3rdpart, please contact me ASAP.

You can contact me at escowscamvictim at yahoo.com

I am filing a law suit against XO Communications for their non-action after receiving all complaints regarding escow activity on their sites. It usually takes weeks before XO will do anything about fradulent sites, thus substantially increases the number of people being defrauded.

Anyone who want to help can contact me ASAP.
