I was scammed too and trying to recover lost money

Postby gereqi » Wed Dec 21, 2005 11:11 am

Hello,

I was just recently scammed and lost money because of these fraudulent sites.

I was trying to buy a new car from http://www.autoscout24.it and after contacting with "owner" he suggested me to use http://www.worldwide-shipping-online.co.uk

We started the trasaction, I sent the money through Western Union, afterwards nobody answered.

I am trying until now to do anything, but almost everyone keeps telling me to forget the money back.

Please be aware my friends ...

Help us to help others......

Give us the details (that you have) of your scammer. Their USERID/Name used through http://www.autoscout24.it , Their email address, their mailing address, Phone number, Fax Number, etc.... anything you have about him(or her).

Provide as much details about the transaction as possible.... This informaiton is needed for a multitude of reasons. The first is education. As others read/google this site.... They can be made aware of potential scams sooner. The second is that there are those who use this site to get the information needed to try and stop and even catch the criminals.

As far as recovering your money, if you read the other posts in this forum, you will see that Western Union is the method of choice for payment from the scammers. The reason is that it's hard for you to recover your money. Once they have claimed it..... That's it.... it's gone and Western Union leaves you little recourse. That is why it is actually safer to use a Credit Card on the internet. At least you have the ability to dispute a charge and have the money returned. Of course now you have to worry about your card (information) getting stolen. Just use a little dilligence and keep a close eye on your card(s) that you use online... and you should be ok.

Summary, of course, is that your money is most definitely lost. Accept it, so that you can start to recover from the loss. That is why I developed this site... this was my recovery from my loss of being scammed out of $1500+ I was lucky, however, I have heard stories of people losing over $50,000.00. Typically these people are selling these things because they are in a tight bind to begin with. So this only makes matters worse. Anyway, I am rambling... Post the details about your scammers info in the forum to help others.

sorry, there's no Bank Details as the money has been transferred using Western Union.

Pretty stupid of me this, isn't it ???

Sometimes people make stupid things, even if they are spending their savings of four years...

This has been the most bad Christmas and New Year I have got in all my life. I am expecting to become father, my monthly salary is just 150.00 EURO here in Albania ...
These 2500 EUR I wanted to buy a car for my modest family so my baby can be brought in hospital the fastest possible because my home is very far from hospital and you can't rely on public transport and/or emergency service, but now I have to face this loss, I don't have what to buy for the New year ...

Really sad, this is the judgement for a stupid thing like this, to think that everybody is a good man and send money by Western Union ...

I wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, may you all have a warmness in your homes.
