Posting in this forum.

I make every attempt to update the database with information I receive in the feedback and the forum area. Sometimes it's difficult to keep up with the postings.

Alas, as of today (June 2, 2006), I have updated the database with the appropriate information. NOW, I would request that prior to posting a "New" site in this forum, please verify that it does not already exist in the database (http://escrow-fraud.com/search.html) when checking the database, it's best to just search on the domain name without sub-domains and without the .com or .net or .us, etc....

For example if you want to know if http://www.european-speditions.com is in the database you could search the entire string of http://www.european-speditions.com but you would come up empty handed because a lot of entries are lacking the WWW. Many because a site is not configured at the WWW address, many because it just was submitted that way.

You could also search http://european-speditions.com but it might also be in as http://european-speditions.net and you would not get that info.

The best search (for more results) is european-speditions.

For this example, however, ALL will work. As I work to improve the SEARCHING of the database, I have actually added a function to strip the HTTP:// (or HTTPS://) off of the search (since most sights have that anyway) and the WWW since it is a redundant criteria for a majority of the sites, however, by not adding them, the process goes a bit quicker.

Back to the original intention of this post. Please verify it's NOT in the database before posting it here. If you have ADDITIONAL information about a particular site that IS in the database, then create a new topic of discussion in http://forum.escrow-fraud.com/viewforum.php?f=2 (Escrow Fraud) or http://forum.escrow-fraud.com/viewforum.php?f=3 (Other internet frauds or scams).

Thanks,

Iàm a senior, have little track of computers, so my question is: When the web. address and e.mail address is known, it is then possible to determine the actual (real) address and the owner?
If any now tell me.

Sort of.

In legitimate websites this information is supplied when registering a site. However Scams usually provide false information. Even the credit card (billing) information is generally not that of the person who registered the site but rather it's from the stolen credit card.

Legitimate site owners who wish their site to stay up more than a month or two need to have legitimate billing information and thus it's traceable albeit you would probably need a court order to get that info.
