I found this place by searching for references to escrow fraud on google.
Nice forum.

If anyone needs links to report theft of money or items, I've got plenty of links.
I can also post names of newly discovered fake escrow sites.

Do you have any info on midlandescrows.com? I have a pending transaction and do not like what I see so far about them. They are new but say they have been in bus for 4 years. carbuytips has them on a watch list. Help anyone?

Just a quick glance at (a portion of) the WHOIS info above. I look at the creation date and notice that it's only 7 days ago (as of this writing). That alone would make me doubt it.


Then for a site that is supposed to be Up and running, there are features not available (Password Recovery/Reset). Then the site claims a copyright since 1994? Interesting given the Creation date (In whois above).

And although it is possible, I question why the site displays an address of

West Des Moines, IA 50266 ,
United States

And the WHOIS info (above) is in NEW Connecticut? (Where is NEW Connecticut anyway?)

My conclussion would be to NOT trust http://midlandescrows.com/ !
