I am going to buy 20 Nokia 7610 from this guy in Alibaba.com. From his address he is from the US. He said to use escrow-europa.com. after looking at it, there was some sign. First there is no number. then there is no 'lock' at the browser. But it is one of the site recommended by ebay. I registered at the website, and the return email came with the address info@ Escrow-Europa.Com. Does it make a difference if it is info@escrow-europa.com? Can i trust it?

First of all, I would NOT click on ANY links in an email from the seller. There are ways to hide the actual address. (Particularly an IDN vulnerability - see http://news.netcraft.com/archives/2005/ ... fense.html and http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/gerv/arc ... 07556.html )

As far as the address being info@Escrow-Europa.Com or info@escrow-europa.com it should not make a difference. The domain name (in this case escrow-europa.com ) are NOT case sensitive, however in a web address things after the domain name are (typically)

i.e. http://escrow-fraud.pgardner.net/test1.htm is different from http://escrow-fraud.pgardner.net/TEST1.htm Click on them and see!

But if you do the same with the domain name

http://escrow-fraud.pgardner.net/test2.htm is different from http://escrow-fraud.PGARDNER.net/test2.htm

So I would suggest that you manually type in http://www.escrow-europa.com and try to login with your (previously registered) information. DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY SELECT IT FROM YOUR HISTORY OR THE AUTOCOMPLETE LIST (in fact to be safe you could clear your history and cache of your browser) If your login fails, then you can re-register (now knowing that you are on the CORRECT site) and infom the party that you are now registered and can complete the transaction. If you get any flak from the seller then you could probably safely assume that you are being scammed.

it turn out bad. He send an email using payments@escrow-europa.com and ask money to be send via money gram. I went to email the offical email address of escrow europa and they said it was a fraud

I am glad you were able to see through the scam. Indeed, many scammers try to use legit sites to perpatrate their fraud.
