Mediterranean Logistics

Postby BVG » Mon Aug 28, 2006 11:17 pm

I am completely new to this site, but I see having been (nearly) a victim of an Escrow scam that what you have as http://www.mediterranean-shipping.com has changed to http://mediterranean-logistics.com. They tried to scam me out of £18,400 (about $30,000) for a Range Rover apparently based in Spain. Thanks to this site I now know it's a scam. Note the name change!

I have also found that the scammers have registered http://www.online-shippingworld-wire.com so that it will appear in search engines apparently verifying Mediterranean Shipping. Google's precis of it says: Mediterranean Logistics is one of the leading international providers of ... Mediterranean Logistics shows its expertise in the field of automotive ...
However, the site has a temporary disabled note on it.

Actually the online-shippingworld-wire.com site is also a fraud (in the db at http://escrow-fraud.com/fraud_data.php?id=1642 ). Google only puts information that the (searched) site provides. Typically in meta-tags.

I would put no credence in that site. In fact it's only by sheer repetition of the same fraudulent sites over different hosts (and different domain names) that they actually get any information in to google.

Almost identical site. Glad you didn't get stung. It amazes me that in UK nobody including Trading Standards or Friday-Ad (the magazine the ad was in) was interested in stopping these scammers
