Bancelo.com Legit??

Postby htaylor » Sun Jan 29, 2006 4:02 pm

We are in process of selling an expensive watch on E-bay, we found a buyer straightaway who made a very generous bid for it - £2000. He said we must use his trusted escrow agent Bancelo Solutions (http://www.bancelo.com) in Portugal. He said he'd pay postage and all costs. He is now saying that the funds are there and we must send the watch. Having our suspisions about the website - unobtainable phone number, nothing came up on an google search for the company, we then asked the buyer to use an approved escrow we had chosen. He has now send a stroppy email saying if we do not send watch he may have to take legal action against us.
Would any body know of any other checks we can do to check if this is a fraudulent company?
Many thanks.

First of all, I would not trust the site. Just by the threat of the legal action. That alone in itself is illegal. Escrows main purpose is to protect both buyer and seller, and if either of you doesn't feel protected, you can back out.

So have him/her try and pursue legal action.... It is just a scare tactic.

Next, I look at the layout of the site and it looked familiar. Indeed I checked my image gallery and I found a match .

Check http://escrow-fraud.pgardner.net/images/sites/ and more specifically http://escrow-fraud.pgardner.net/images/sites/Layout25/ and you will see what I mean.

Then I looked at the WHOIS http://pgardner.net/whois.php?ip=bancelo.com and saw that the site is a mere week old (as of this post). How much trust can a site that's a week old, invoke in a person unless it's THEIR SITE (and a fraud).

Do not continue with the transaction as you will lose your merchandise. Report the individual to any and all law enforcement.

Finally, if you could provide us with more details of the transaction and specifically the scammer, it would be helpful. The scammers Names, Email addresses, Phone Numbers, Mailing addresses, bank information etc....

And again... AVOID BANCELO.COM

Please post the information I asked for.
Whats the scammer's e-mail?
Where are you selling?
Most likely its eBay.
What is the shipping address?
Nothing can be done if you don't provide the requested info.
The site needs to be closed down.
Did you report the site as fraud?
Did you report the eBay ID?
Probably not as most people only think of themselves.
Forward the e-mail you got that directed you to the site to:
abuse@xo.com
If the fraud is not documented then the site will remain active.
