Probably NEW FRAUD ESCROW COMPANY

Postby s042 » Sat Sep 25, 2010 3:48 pm

Hi, last week I have found a car on http://www.autoscout24.eu . The seller want to sell this car exactly via http://ede-worldwide.co.cc/. After a few hours of Investigating over Internet and their web page, I have found out, that:
1.) No phone number of this company is on their web page,
2.) No bank account numbers for bank transfer is on their web page,
3.) The seller INSIST to make deal via this http://ede-worldwide.co.cc/,
4.) http://ede-worldwide.co.cc/ (.cc ending) is probably a scam page,

If someone has any good idea, how to check, and where to make a report of a scam, please write down. I really like that the Police will get this bastard. The seller has an italian email address, but at the moment he is in England, and from Manchester he would like to send me his car.

Hello;

I've added http://www.ede-worldwide.co.cc/ to our database and sent a report. From my previous experiences it should be gone in a couple of hours. It's a variant of a known layout:

http://escrow-fraud.com/index.php?page= ... layout=129

You can file a police report but if you haven't paid yet I wouldn't expect too much from it (if there is no real victim police can be a bit reluctant to investigate). The "seller" is probably neither Italian not is he in England right now; he's probably sitting in some Romanian Internet cafe.

What you can do is to report the ad to Autoscout. There is a small "Report Error" link at the bottom. Please write down your findings and the ad should be pulled soon.

YES. EDE Wordwide IS a FRAUD!
This is exactly what happened to me last week. I saw a Smart car advert on a Hungarian web site. It had a really good price and fairly new. So I thought it is too good to be true but I contacted the seller through e-mail anyway (because there was no phone number). I received a reply 2 days later from a German email address and the name was Sabine Meier. She said that the car was registered in Hungary but now she had to travel to London/UK and the car is there as well so if I wanted to buy the car she can send it to me only by EDE Worldwide. I was actually happy that the car was in London since I am going to the UK next week so I could have had a look at it and pay in cash and make savings on delivery cost. I asked if I could pick it up in London while I`m there but I didn`t receive any reply.
Since I was desperate to buy this car I wrote again, saying that I am not against EDE Escrow company. After this email I received a reply saying that she will start a transaction on EDE Worldwide website and I should register too and after logging on I will see the started transaction. I did exactly as She asked me to. I accepted the transaction and the next step would have been the payment but there was no bank account number or phone number. Only e-mail address and fax number. I do a lot of shopping on internet and ebay so I know that every normal website has a bank account number and phone number with address. This one did not have any of these. I received an email from EDE Worldwide which was saying that I should transfer the money on someone`s personal bank account as this person was their representative bla bla bla....and they gave me this persons name and every detail. I got a bit worried. I asked the seller to make it possible for me to have a look at the car. She said that the car was in a sealed container and it was impossible to take it out. After this I asked her to send me some photos of the registration documents but guess what...it was also in the container with a sale contract in 2 languages signed by Her....wow!Whenever I asked questions I didn`t get any answer. She never answered why had I to transfer money on a personal bank account instead of EDE Company account. When I got a bit worried she got upset saying that she has a 7 year old child and worked hard for everything she had....I felt bad accusing Her because I did not know about the fraud, just everything was so confusing. She offered me a transaction cancellation and a fast reply from me so this morning I asked Her to cancel the transaction and two hours later I found this website! THANK GOOOOD!!!!!
I registered my address on EDE website so I am a bit worried....

Added to our database and sent a report. I expect the site to be suspended in a couple of hours maximum.

s042: If you find more such sites please post them here, we can "take care" of them.

notstupid: Please post the email address used by "Sabine Meier" (this is not the real name of that person for sure).
