Need to know if this is Fraudulent?

Postby Jamikt » Thu May 24, 2012 10:16 pm

I applied to many job advertisements and listed my resume on job boards. This one replied; the name of the company is international logistics group, website: logisticsgroupint.com. There is a contact number but when I called it, it sounds like a fax number. Also the job involves me receiving goods and packaging them and sending them to clients oversees. That is where things start getting suspicious to me... why the need for the middle man? This position is called Transportation Specialist, it is a part-time position paying $2300 a month.

Hello;

this sure sounds like a "reshipping scam" to me. (If you search for "reshipping scam" - including the quotes - you'll get plenty hits).

The domain logisticsgroupint.com was only registered less than two weeks ago and with anonymized data:

The website was copied from http://www.nlglogistics.com/ (which as far as I can see is legit).

So yes: the job offer is very likely fraudulent.

Absolutely it is a fraud. Jorge Rodriquez was my contact's name and their offices were supposedly at 2 Richard Street in Boston. I Googled them on line, checked out the address, did a street view and even called them back. So I went to work. First week I got three packages, second week another 4, third week 11 and last week 1. Because I started last week of August it carried over into Sept. I sent 22 packages total. I insisted on a cashiers check from a major bank, no problem they said. I sent 3 lap tops, 2 play stations, 3 telephoto camera lenses, 2 flashes, 8 GPS devices and 4 kids lego games. When an item was returned week 3 and they weren't interested in sending funds to pick it up from the post office, I knew something was seriously wrong. Everything was sent to Russian Federation, Kasakhstan and the Ukrain. Thank goodness I am not out any money. I had tape, when I had to repackage items, I turned the boxes inside out so the writing was on the inside, reglued and stapled them, used shredded newspaper for packing insulation and off they went. I have now been contacted by several similar companies and have immediately sent them packing, advised craigslist, Monster and Careerbuilder. ILGscammed but not scum!
