GOOD DAY,

MY NAME IS BABANA DIKKO. MY BROTHER IS A TOP GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL WHO WAS
INVOLVED IN THE GROSS EMBEZZLEMENT, FINANCIAL MISAPPROPRIATION, AND OIL
THEFT THAT OCCURED AT THE CONGOLESE OIL COMPANY (HYDRO-CONGO) SOMETIME IN
THE YEAR 2002, AND WHICH WAS VASTLY PUBLICISED BY ONE OF THE WORLDS LEADING
NEWS CHANNELS, BBC NEWS. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE MATTER, CLICK ON THIS
WEBPAGE:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/1100852.stm

MY BROTHER WAS ABLE TO SYPHONE THE SUM OF US$200.8 MILLION. THIS MONEY WAS
TAKEN ABROAD WITH HIS CONTACTS IN GOVERNMENT AND HAS BEEN DEPOSITED IN A
SECURITY COMPANY WHOSE NAME I AM NOT GOING TO DISCLOSE NOW FOR SECURITY
REASONS UNTIL I HEAR FROM YOU. I WILL GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR KIND AND VERY
HONEST ASSISTANCE IN INVESTING THIS MONEY IN YOUR COUNTRY. I WILL GIVE YOU
A COMPREHENSIVE BREAKDOWN ON HOW THIS TRANSACTION WILL WORK OUT IMMEDIATELY
I HEAR FROM YOU.

URGENTLY AWAITING YOUR RESPONSE

BEST REGARDS

BABANA DIKKO
YOU MAY KINDLY RESPOND VIA THIS EMAIL: b_dikko@post.com

Your best defense against this type of scam is to NOT REPLY.
1. You should however Forward this to abuse@post.com because typically the respond e-mail works because they have to get in touch with you otherwise the scam would die once you received.
2. Forward this along with the FULL HEADERS to UCE@FTC.GOV this is the Internet Fraud e-mail of the Federal Trade Commission.
3. Remember "If its too good to be true IT IS!!!"

To further elaborate on this.....
On number 1, you should forward the message to abuse@Whatever.Domain.Its.Sent.From In the example above, it was post.com my domain would be pgardner.net, etc....

On number 2, if it IS the Nigerian Scam (or even a variation of it) the FTC actually has an alternate address to send emails too. it's 419.fcd@usss.treas.gov The scam (oritinally) was called the Nigerian 419 scam thus the email address.

And there is NO arguing with number 3 above, although it takes a lot a people a long time to figure that one out. I just hope it doesn't cost you a lot of money to really understand it.

Thanks again to thecleaner for your insight and information. Keep up the good work.

Ahhhhh that is the tip of the iceberg. thecleaner, peg and pace; I get about 25 of those scam 419ers model letters in my email box every week, yep.........do not reply....just delete or empty the junk mail.

You reply nor fool with them and they can cost you a jail sentance or about $1000 a pop for thin air.
