Is Logisticshipment.com legit or a scam?

Postby Willow » Tue Jun 22, 2010 1:31 pm

Hi, we are looking to purchase an atv. The ATV is in Whitehorse, Canada, and we are in Alberta. The guy selling is wanting to use this company to ship it. He is selling the quad very cheap, so that is our first alarm bell, but we would like to know if www.logisticshipment.com is a legitimate company. We did notice that the http address does not have an "s" after it and we cannot find a phone number or mailing address. Does anyone know about this company?

The "company" doesn't exist at all; the template used by the site is well-known:

http://escrow-fraud.com/index.php?page= ... &layout=61

(it was copied from a legit company). I've added the site to our database. Interestingly the site was registered just yesterday...

Please post a few more details, especially the email address used by the "seller" (which of course is the scammer himself).

The email address is
Robert Rogel (robertrogel@ymail.com)

He states that he is in Whitehorse, YT and that he is listing this in all the major centers. He also says that he will pay for shipping, and throw in 2 helmets and a leather jacket. His price is just low enough to be a "real good deal". One email reply is signed - Robert, but another one is signed David.

He is selling an ATV (2005 Polaris Ranger Twin 700) on Kijiji - Edmonton

I emailed him back that I didn't think the site was legitimate - should I have warned him that I was on to him? Now I am worried he will just change it up a bit and scam others. What is the proper procedure when you come across something like this?

Thanks for the information, this is a great site. My gut was telling me -"if its too good to be true...
