Hi Fraud Busters,

I'm in Canada looking for an apartment to rent and someone in London claims to be able to rent his Toronto apartment to me if we use this website(http://www.freight-transport-ltd.com/). It's one of those to good to be true deals and I'd like to find out before I go ahead with it.

Thanks to all who may be able to help bust this scam.

Yes, it's a scam. Please post some additional information; especially the email address used by the scammer.

I have just been contacted in regards to the same situation for an apartment in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The individual claims to have a job in Britain and wants to complete the transaction for the apartment through http://www.freight-transport-ltd.com/. He was willing to rent me the apartment without asking any sort of information about me so I thought it may be a scam. The email that was used to conduct the communication was:
harry.birmans59@gmail.com on behalf of James Prosten (james.prosten@live.ca)

"Paul Anginie" is now working under DPD. I checked the freight-transport link which is disabled now. I knew it was a scam from this site and also one in Australia where the same guy was claiming to be selling a Mac computer. I responded to him anyway to find out what company he was using now. This is in SouthWestern Ontario by the way.

This is what the email said that I got:

"In order to start the transaction, I need to know your shipping information (i.e. name and address). With the information you'll provide me, I will go at DPD Express (Dynamic Parcel Delivery) office and leave the keys and the contract in their possession and start the process.
The shipping will be done by DPD Air Express. DPD Express is a worldwide delivery company. I use DPD many times, and find they are helpful, polite, efficient and on time. I have never had a problem, everything went smooth. DPD are the best by miles. When they say they will deliver a parcel on whatever date or time, it is delivered!
As soon as they have all the details, they will start the transaction and notify you with all you need to know regarding it (proof of delivery, payment instruction, my account status, etc)."
email: anginie900rey@gmail.com

I asked for an address prior to receiving this email and was sent an address that I checked out and asked the neighbours about--definitely not a vacant apt. Also, someone had mentioned that they were suspicious because he didn't ask any questions--now he asks a list of questions to be sure he's getting the right tenant and claiming that he had flown here before for someone who wanted it and then baled out so didn't want to fly again and have me change my mind.

I was looking for a place in Ottawa, found an advert " Luxury 1 bedroom apt in the Pinnacle building " in the Ottawa Citizen. I replied to this ad and get feedback from - andrew.brinhs (andrew.brinhs@live.ca)

Thank you for your interest. The Apartment located in 445 Laurier Ave W, Ottawa, ON is still available. It has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. I am looking for someone to live in it, as soon as possible, because my company has won the auction for a project, in construction, for a building that will rise up in London, United Kingdom. I am a civil engineer, so my accommodation period in England will be about 4 years. The renting period is from 1 month up to 4-6 years. As a result of this I want to rent, for this period, at this price and also to find the perfect person for my apartment. I`m the owner of the apt and it's like in the pics. The apartment is unfurnished but if you want you can use my furniture from the storage unit. The rent for 1 month is 740CAD$ (for the whole apartment) including all utilities (water, electricity, Internet, cable, parking, air conditioning, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, refrigerator). You can move in the apt in the same day when you receive the keys. The only problem is that I`m the only person who has the keys but I hope that we will find a compromise.

He then offered this solution for apt contract & key:
Like I have informed you before, the price you have to pay for one month of rent will be 740CAD$ with no extra fees you will have access to all facilities provide by the building. The utility bills are paid directly from my bank account. The price will not increase monthly, it will remain the same for the whole period that the contact will be signed for. We can start with a basic 1 year contract with the possibility of renewing it or with the period of time suitable for you.About the payment, I would like to receive it monthly into my bank account and I hope there will be no problem for you to wire the money to it. The apartment is ready for you, you only need to receive the keys and the contract so you could check it out, and see if you like it. The apt will be unfurnished but it can be rented very easily with the furniture at the same price. Also pets are allowed. Since I'm in London, United Kingdom we need a way to complete this deal that will allow us to make sure we receive what we are asking for. I have found a way for us to complete the deal safely and fast, and in this way you will receive the Keys in less than 2 days. The solution is provided by a company called Freight-Transport which will handle the payment and delivery of the Keys. I have found a procedure that will allows you to pay for the rent of the apt only after you will receive the keys, and through this way you will see it and decide if you like it or not, before sending the payment. Please click on the link bellow to the Freight-Transport web site to see how we can complete the deal safely and fast directly from the web site of the company where this procedure is explained in the SAFE EXCHANGE SERVICE: www.freight-transport-ltd.all.co.uk

I've added http://www.freight-transport-ltd.all.co.uk/ to our database:

http://escrow-fraud.com/index.php?page= ... a&id=10764

And sent a report; with a bit of luck the fake site will be dead tomorrow. Thanks for posting the data.
