As I looked further I find that http://wholesale4all.net follows the same format as wholesale-brands.com and wearthisbrand.org.

In fact the checkout page is alomst exactly the same. WHOIS shows a date of December of 2004... Still pretty young in my book.

It's amazing...

I went to this site http://wholesale-brands.net and placed an order for 10 rolex watches... (I really didn't care what the items were, just wanted a large order.)

Their process is pathetic (for anyone trying to do e-commerece).

You order..
They send you an email (some time latter) wanting confirmation.
Then you confirm.
Then they present payment options (??? Err.... rather just ONE option... The one they want).
So I kept a dialog with them and presented many challenges to try and get more information about their scam.

Below is the dialog (I have put it in proper order so you can read from the top down) that I had with "Allison". My that I used has been crossed out but her's (now no longer valid) is the one I used. It's also worthy to note that the site and email account are now shut down.

If all details are correct, shipping info, items ordered.
If this is your order. If you want ot proceed with it or add more
items.

Shipping: via UPS, DHL or FedEx fully insured at no extra cost;
customer chooses carrier. Delivery takes three business days outside Europe, two inside EU and it's free for the first two orders. Further more if you want we can send your package "as gift" to avoid paying extra fees. Many of our customers prefer this kind of shipment.

Payment: bank transfers for regular customers, cash if you come here and pick up the packages or wire transfers via Western Union.

I am interested in the 2 but would like to get the other 8. I do trade shows, and these seem (for whatever reason) to be a popular choice.

Thanks,

We will get more maybe sooner than 1 week. Delivery to you takes three business days. If I can confirm payment tomorrow you can have a tracking number for these two by night. Do you want an invoice(fax/email?) for these two and payment instructions?

G Man wrote:
Yes please. I do not have a fax machine, as I only use a mobile phone (it's cheaper now-a-days). So if you could email me the invoice/instructions I would appreciate it. Also what about the other 8. How do I make sure that I can get them and that they are not sold to someone else? It seems like you have a limited supply, is this a trend? I
ask because I know of the popularity I have encountered with these watches.

Thanks again for your quick response.

John

Hi,

Your invoice is attached.

Here are payment instructions: first go to http://www.westernunion.com and click on the "agent locator" link to find out your nearest agency.

Then just go into the Western Union office and ask the "Send money" form.
Fill in your details and my details (name and address) and the total amount to be sent ($2900 minus WU fee), pay the deposit and the Western Union fee, they will process the transfer and you will receive a receipt with the payment's
details.

Get back to me with transfer info: sender name and address, control number and total amount sent (in EUR too if possible). I will check online the transfer and if it's validated I will proceed with the shipping afterwords. If you want a personal advice don't tell Western Union the transfer is for a business transaction because they might charge you with extra fees.

My details are:

Alisson Moore Fontana
Viale Morgagni 84
Florence 50134
Italy

I will make an order of 8 more from our suppliers as soon as you receive the first two and I will put them on hold for you. We will send the next ones up front and expect payment afterwards in our bank account. I will let you know then.

These particular model is very popular indeed. It sells very well.

Western Union? What about wiring? You mentioned that previously in your email. I would prefer to wire the funds. It's quicker from me, as I don't have to go to a Western Union office. in fact I don't even have to leave my house. Just call the bank with the instructions, and it's done.

As long as I get it in by 3 PM EST (which is in a little over an hour), it should be in your bank by tomorrow morning.

Please let me know. I await your reply.

John

We do prefer bank transfer between us and regular customer. You are not a regular customer just yet. I am sure you will be very soon but let me explain more.

It takes more than three days, sometimes a week to confirm international transfers with our bank. For the first order we want to ship very fast so we need to confirm very fast. That is why we have chosen Western Union for the first couple of orders. It allows us to check payment online very fast and proceed with shipment only a few hours later. Another reason is that after the first two orders we agree to receive payment from our customers within 30 days from delivery. So after two orders you can wire funds into our bank account after you receive the package. The first two orders are processed this way just to be able to ship them faster and build a trust relationship betwen us and our new customers.

Like I said I agree to will ship the next Rolex Air King models before you pay and then you can wire the funds for them.

Let me know if this is alright with you.

Best regards,
Alisson

Be assured, although I do want the watches, I am not in that much of a hurry that I cannot wait the extra couple of days. I would prefer to NOT use Western Union. I would much rather use the Wire transfer.

Indeed even the INVOICE you sent has WIRE TRANSFER checked.

If you forward me the wire instructions so I can do a wire transfer, I would appreciate it.

Thanks again,
John

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. I was talking to my sales manager these days to convience him to accept a bank transfer for your first order but he did not agree. I will keep trying but I don't know if he'll agree in the end.
Unfortunately this will delay the next 8 Rolex Air Kings a bit too.

Unfortunately, I will have to look elsewhere then. I do not trust using Western Union, as there is no method for protecting me once the money has been sent. So unless you can accept a wire transfer or can offer another
method, I will look elsewhere.

Sorry for the inconvience of your time.

Thanks,
John

Hi,

Good news I hope. My sales manager has agree to a bank transfer
(it's amazing... when you pressure them to leave how helpful they can be... Isn't it? (hehe)) and we will also get 6 more Rolex Air King tomorrow morning. 5 blue dials and 1 silver dial. I am very happy to give you this news and I hope we can do future business together long time from now on.

Let me know if you are still interested and if so what would be your first order.

I understand that they are not all in stock and would wait for the remaining items to be shipped at a later date (if it's within a reasonable amount of time not to exceed 2 months).

Thanks again for you assitance,

John.

Hi,

I am glad to hear that. We will have 8 (eight) available for you tomorrow evening (6 with blue dial and 2 with a silver dial). We will get the other two within a week time.

A 20% discount applies for this order. Let me know if everything is alright and I will invoice you for your updated order and let you know the bank details.

That will be fine. Also the last 2 I would prefer if they were the BLUE dial. I have better luck with those.

Please go ahead and send the invoice. Also for my records... Would it be possible to reference a Purchase order number on the Invoice? My purchase order number is P0072612. That way in my filing system I have a way to cross reference it.

Thanks again. I appreicate your assistance.

Hi,

We have two local stores there and Mr. Ismael, the owner, is the main

there,
including some of the Rolex watches.

Is that a problem?

Hi,

Well to be honest I am going to tell you the truth and you are not
going to risk going through with your order. That happened to 50% of
our new customers in the last couple of months.

These kind of websites (because the one you gave me it's not the only
one) are FAKE! Our owner is a very powerful man with many enemies. A
rival company owner is behind this backstabing strategy of
discreditating us and although we won a few lawsuits over them there is
nothing we can do against all these different websites poping up over
night. It's a long process before the hosting companies cut down these
fake websites even after the lawsuit is won.

We are a legit company here in Italy, registered with the VAT #
IT00184930048. You can check us out if you want but I tell you from the
past few months experience that new customers just don't take the risk
of dealing with us after they find fake info of these fake websites around.

Have a nice day,
Alisson
sales

Allison,

Sorry for the delay... I got side tracked. Nonetheless.... I should like to point out one site that is claiming fraud against you...

http://forum.pgardner.net/viewtopic.php?t=135

They have some pretty convincing evidence that makes me concerned. Can you explain?

John

After this last email... I got no response. Then I sent another one and the account was closed by YAHOO (who apparently owns sbcglobal..) Then I check the site again.... thinking they might have just changed their email address. Nope... The site was up for about another 2 days without change and now it's gone.

My only regret is that they probably didn't get caught by law enforcement.. they just get shut down and they will move somewhere else.

Oh well, at least this one is shut down.

Thanks to all who helped put this one out of business.
