Fraud moto-case

Postby Hobtroll » Tue Oct 04, 2011 6:46 pm

Nice attempt to sell me Harley Davidson:)

I found a great Harley on our Russian website Slando for VERY cheep price: http://auto.slando.ru/moskva/harley-dav ... nrk=RU-MOS
And wrote to seller - here is our e-mailing:

Hello,
I hope you understand english because I don't write russian so well even if I lived and worked in Russia for a year. I bought the motorcycle from Russia but now I came back home in London, UK and I don't need it anymore. The bike is in excellent condition, russian papers, never in any accidents, the engine works perfectly, it has the technical book and all papers, real km. The bike is already at a shipping company custody, but I can send it to your home address in 3-4 working days on my expense. All the transaction (payment and contract) will be done through this shipping company which is very secure and work like an escrow service. Please let me know if you are interested and I will tell you more about this transaction.

- Hello Thomas,

well, what do you mean by speaking about shipping company? You were going to ship the bike also to England? Why are you speaking about any possibility of transaction for it? I did not quite understand actually... Anyway I'm interested in your bike - so will be glad to get any further information about it.
Also - do you have more information, photos of your bike?

Hello,

As I told you, the bike is in UK ,London now. I worked in Russia from where I bought the bike but now I just came back home (in UK) and I brought the bike with me. It still has Russian plates and Russian papers so you won't have any problems registering it on your name. Since the bike is already deposited at the delivery company, they will handle the entire transaction. It is very simple, I used them before and I am 100% satisfied with their services because they protect both of us (buyer and seller). As I said, I will pay the delivery taxes.

Let me explain you how it works:

1) First you have to send me your shipping information (your name and address).
2) After I receive your shipping info, I'll go to the company and confirm that you are the buyer.
3) You will receive a notification from them as a confirmation that the bike is in their custody and also, that the bike has been tested.
4) After that, you will have to make deposit payment on the shipping company Department and address, as a guarantee and send the payment information to them.
(you must send a deposit of 50 % first and rest of the money 50% after you will receive the bike).
5) The shipping company will verify the payment, and if everything is in order, they will deliver the bike to your location.
6) After you will receive the bike and you will be completely satisfied with it, you will instruct them with your decision. You have 10 days to inspect it and take a decision.
7) If by any reason, you will not be satisfy by the bike, you will send back the bike to the shipping company with no expense and they will refund back your deposit amount.

Let me know if we can do this.

Hello Thomas.
Photos looks great:) Thу price is also. Still - as I already asked for:
- Can you send me the skans of russian Vehicle Passport, and registration - to let me check the numbers in local Police department.
- What's the name of shipping company - I need to call them or visit their office here - to let me know if they really responsible for:
1. Bike technical condition (which is strange for shipping company actually)
2. All the legal responsibility and procedures (contract between me and you, payments, possible refund)
3. How long the transportation will take?
If everything is fine... I'll take it definitely, I even don't need 10 days to check the bike - my technical specialist can check everything in a while -during recieving the bike.
As I said - I live in Moscow.

Hello Ivan,

Sorry but all the papers are already at the delivery company. Also I think that it is not a very good idea to send the bike's papers by email. Therefore you will receive them at your home address along with the bike and you will have 10 days inspection period.
You must make a first payment (50% of the total amount) as soon as the transaction will be started and after you will receive and inspect the bike, only if you will decide to keep it, you will pay the remaining balance.
This is the delivery company policy, they require the payment in advance, you must understand that they can not risk to ship the bike for nothing. Besides, there is nothing to worry about as they will not release the money to me until you register the bike on your name.

Well, sounds reasonable for me. Can I get their contacts in this case to let me start discuss all the procedure with them? To look through the contract and stuff like that:)
And Thomas, by the way simple question again - why you decided to sell this bike? And if you did - why you took it back to London instead of living it hear in some warehause waitiing to be sold?

I want to sell it because I already bought a car and I got a loan from a friend. Now I must give him the money back.
I use a local shipping company (Autoshippers) who offer me the best price for delivery. I worked with this company in the past and I have friends that still do and we never had a problem with this company. Their phone number is +447588319458 and their email address is: autoshippers-inc@financier.com

Hello Thomas,
strange problem... I called to /www.autoshippers.co.uk - by their main number in UK: Tel: UK + 44 (0) 117 9828123
They told me that they does not work with Russia and could not deliver anything here... may be it's some mistake?

Hello,
Their website is : http://eurotransexpress-autoshippers.eu/
Thank you,

Thank you, Thomas.
I will contact them tomorrow to discuss our situation.
Can I also call you to finalize negotiations by phone?

My phone number is +447964022274 but sorry I work until late and I can't use my phone on work (I work in a public institution). I have access only to the internet. I hope this is not a inconvenient for you.

:) well, I guess you are not working without weekends 24 hours a day:) What time/date will be comfortable for you to talk?
Sorry for all these questions Thomas - really in Russia are LOT's of gamblers - who can earn money in a special way generally looks like "transfer you money somewhere - and you'll get something":))) And you can get NOTHING or some crap after all sometimes...:((
That's why I need to be sure - everything is clear in our case.

I totally understand your concern , this is also why I have chosen a secure third party company to handle the entire transaction, for my protection and the buyer's as well. You will NOT send the money to me, you will send it to the shipping company and you must understand that I have no reason to lie to you because the shipping company will not release the money to me until you register the bike on your name so it will only be a waste of time and money for me, don't you think ??
I will need your decision asap because I have a lot of buyers waiting for an answer.

THAT'S IT - I checked the site and found it in fraud list in a minute :) Here is Thomas's adress: thomas s <thomsaran@hotmail.com>
