FinancierMarche is a fraud escrow company

Postby bmckinney » Fri Dec 18, 2009 3:34 pm

Via Ebay, I sold a watch for $5,100 USD to a Pierre Dumont. We utilized FinancierMarche (http://www.financiermarche.com/generaltransaction.php) to conduct the escrow. I followed all steps and was notified on 11.20.2009 that my funds were wired and would arrive no later than 2 business days to my bank account. I never received the funds and neither the buyer nor the escrow company will respond (I have attempted 10 times to each party). In the past few days the FinancierMarche site is down and numbers to call unavailable. Please be aware.

In addition, Pierre DuMont, the buyer is registered as "sellingeverything-2007" on Ebay. Be aware.

Hello, I'm really sory to hear about you loss.

A few things: financiermarche.com is/was indeed a fake company. It has been in our database since November 21:

http://escrow-fraud.com/index.php?page= ... ta&id=9648

This is part of a longer and ongoing scam; most of the sites in the following category were used for similar purposes, probably b the same scammer:

http://escrow-fraud.com/index.php?page= ... layout=192

This is organized crime; and when you file a report with the authorities you should make them aware of this.

Second, sellingeverything-2007 is very likely NOT the scammer himself. This is probably a hijacked account (read: someone gained access to the password, probably by a phishing attempt). Something like this is very typical for this particular scam.

Third, did you make this deal directly on ebay or outside ebay? If it's the latter ebay will be of little help here.

As I said you need to file a report with the authorities (police/law enforcement/...).
