cargoes.eu?

Is this a scam site?

I'm about to use it to buy a car using their "SafeDeal" feature. I've been given a tracking number that checks out with the site.

Please note that the deal does sound too good to be true. (4400USD for a 2-year-old car with less 15k miles).

Thanks, guys. I'm new here. Like everybody else, I just don't want to be scammed.

Yes, it's fake:

Please post a few more details, especially the name and email address the scammer is using and (if known) bank details.

Thanks.

Name he's using is Martin Gullar.

No email, though. He posted the ad here: http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/view+ ... +Hatchback
User page: http://semniokj.sulit.com.ph/

Here's the whole message he sent:

The car is still for sale and the asking price is USD $4400. The car is like new, it has no accidents, it comes with full service history, it has no scratches, no damages, no mechanical or engine problems, it was always garaged. The car comes with a clear title, no money owning on it and with all the papers in order. I worked in Philippines for 3 years but right now I am back in United Kingdom with my job. I will not be able to deal in person, but I can arrange a transport to your address using a shipping company service for delivery. They work fast and they are using safety and a guarantee service. The name of the company is CARGOES LTD ( http://www.cargoes.eu ). The car is already in there custody in Manila, Philippines. Tracking number is (removed), please visit http://cargoes.eu/index.php?page=trackingnumber if you want to check. For shipping they will use a machine trailer and will not late more than 2-3 days. They will ask you for the money proof before starting the shipping procedure. You will have to confirm your payment by bank account to them and your money will be kept in a protection account until you make a decision ( keep it or not ). You will have 5 days to inspect it. If you like it you just sign the papers and they send the money in my account. There is also a refund policy included, in case that you do not agree with the vehicle condition. They just refund your money back by the same way ( bank account ). In this way there will be avoided any kind of problem which comes from the buyer such as from the seller. The costs of the transport will be USD $600 but we can pay it on behalf so the total price will be USD $4700. I need to know your full name and address, as soon as I have them I will start the official procedure, and Cargoes will notify you about this. Cargoes will send you an Invoice with all the info you will need to complete the transaction.

Thanks,

Martin Gullar

Thanks for the details.

It seems that both the ad and the user page on sulit.com.ph have already been deleted/suspended.

You can also do a Google search for this phrase from the message: "In this way there will be avoided any kind of problem which comes from the buyer such as from the seller"

(including the quotes; and make sure that all results are displayed). The results don't leave much room for interpretation...

I've added the fake site to our database; let's hope it will get suspended soon.

(I'll probably move this whole thread to the escrow fraud subforum later.)
